Coaching the Coach
All coaches, no matter how experienced, have issues they don’t see, communication they haven’t heard and challenges they’re not communicating. Consequently, high-quality coaching can’t be maintained by a coach acting in isolation. Coaching the coach requires reflection and exploration of the coaches’ work that supports them in understanding their clients better, become more aware of their own responses to their clients, and enables them to understand the dynamics of client-coach interaction.
I offer coaching supervision to coaches that want to sustain best practice over time, ensuring that staleness and burnout are avoided. This supports the confidence of the coach, enabling them to make the effective interventions that they maybe wouldn’t otherwise have the courage to make.
Supervision is a powerful and effective way of addressing a coaches own personal development: whilst the coach is working on client challenges.
