Struggling with anxiety in Singapore? Discover expert anxiety therapy that addresses the root causes of fear and worry, and helps you take back control of your life.
Does This Sound Familiar?
- You wake up with a knot in your stomach before a social event.
- Your mind races at night, rehearsing conversations that have not happened yet.
- You cancel plans, avoid situations, or white-knuckle your way through ordinary moments that others seem to take for granted.
- You have difficulty being present, even during moments that should feel good.
- Low self-worth, driven by the belief that something is fundamentally wrong with you
If any of this resonates, you are far from alone.
One of my clients described it perfectly: anxiety was “hijacking her life and stopping her from enjoying even the simplest social events.” That kind of quiet but relentless suffering is exactly what anxiety therapy is designed to address, not just at the surface, but at the root. Understanding the why behind anxiety is the first step toward lasting change, and it is at the heart of the approach I use with every client.
A Different Kind of Therapy Approach to Overcome Anxiety
Many people come to me having tried to manage anxiety through willpower, positive thinking, or simply avoiding anything that triggers it. These strategies offer temporary relief at best, and often make things worse.
My approach to anxiety therapy in Singapore is different. Rather than helping you cope with anxiety indefinitely, we work together to understand and resolve it by addressing the thought patterns, limiting beliefs, and emotional residues that keep you stuck.
What Our Therapy Sessions Cover
Each person’s anxiety is unique, so our work together is tailored specifically to you. Across your therapy journey, you can expect to:
- Understand your anxiety at a deeper level We look beyond the surface symptoms to uncover your personal “painful cycle”, the underlying patterns of thought and behaviour that drive your anxiety responses. Insight here is transformative: once you understand why you feel anxious, it begins to lose its power over you.
- Distinguish facts from fabricated narratives A significant part of anxiety therapy involves learning to separate what is objectively true from the stories your mind constructs around it. This practical skill gives you immediate tools to interrupt the anxiety spiral in real time.
- Separate your thoughts and emotions Rather than being swept away by your feelings, you learn to observe them as distinct, manageable entities separate from who you are. This shift in perspective is one of the most powerful tools for anxiety management.
- Reframe your relationship with anxiety Instead of treating anxiety as an enemy to be defeated, we work toward accepting it as a part of your experience that can be understood and managed. This approach is far more effective, and far more compassionate than fighting against yourself.
- Build practical, lasting tools Sessions include actionable techniques, worksheets, and frameworks you can use independently between and after sessions. The goal is your long-term confidence and self-sufficiency, not ongoing dependency on therapy.
- Cultivate presence and gratitude Anxiety pulls you into future catastrophising. A core part of our work together involves practices that bring you back to the present, and that help shift your baseline relationship with daily life.
Thought Field Therapy: Targeting Anxiety at Its Source
One of the specialist tools I use in anxiety therapy is Thought Field Therapy (TFT), particularly effective for phobias, acute anxiety, and the psychological residue of past traumas.
TFT is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive treatment that works by addressing the body’s energy meridian system. When we focus on a problem or fear, we generate what is known as a “thought field”, a kind of energetic blueprint of the disturbance. TFT applies a precise sequence of interventions to that thought field, neutralising the perturbations (the root energetic disturbances) that generate the emotional response.
Think of it like a combination lock: all the numbers might be correct, but unless they are applied in the right sequence, the lock will not open. TFT works in exactly the same way- the correct sequence, applied to the right thought field, removes the cause of the negative emotion rather than simply managing its effects.
For clients dealing with specific fears, social anxiety, trauma-linked responses, and deep-rooted emotional patterns, TFT can produce remarkably rapid and lasting results.
Real Results: A Client’s Anxiety Therapy Journey
The most meaningful testament to this work comes from the people who have lived it. Here is what one client shared after completing her therapy journey:
“I had been suffering from acute anxiety that was hijacking my life and stopping me from enjoying even the simplest social events… Through Graham’s guidance, I gained insights into my thought patterns and behaviours. He helped me to understand my painful cycle, uncovering my limiting beliefs, and step into my true self with confidence.”
What she describes, gaining insight, building tools, shifting her relationship with anxiety, reflects the arc of transformation that anxiety therapy makes possible. She continued:
“I can see a difference in my attitude towards life and I navigate problems now versus before we started our sessions. I’m becoming more patient with myself, and I am thinking more positively about things. I have definitely felt much less anxious, and when I have, I have had Graham’s voice in my head telling me why I feel anxious and what to do to control it.”
Why Anxiety Therapy Works Best When It’s Holistic
Effective therapy does not just address the symptoms you present with today. It looks at the whole picture: your personal history, your belief systems, your life stage, and the deeper psychological cycles that shaped how you relate to fear and uncertainty.
My sessions are also designed to be flexible and accessible. My clients are encouraged to record sessions for ongoing reference. Worksheets and information sheets are provided so that your toolkit remains available whenever you need it. Support is not limited to scheduled sessions, I make myself available between sessions when clients need it most.
